OPEC VS U.S who controls Oil price

OPEC VS THE UNITED STATES: WHO CONTROLS OIL PRICES? Up until the middle of the 20th century, the United States of America (U.S.A) was the largest producer of oil and controlled oil prices. In the years to follow, OPEC controlled the oil markets and prices for most of the latter part of the 20th century. However, with the discovery of shale oil in the U.S.A and advances in drilling techniques, America has re-emerged as a top producer of oil. In this article, we explore the historical battle between OPECand the United States of America to control oil prices and how world events have influenced that struggle.1 KEY TAKEAWAYS As of 2019, OPEC controlled roughly 75% of the world's total crude oil reserves and produced 42% of the world's total crude oil output. However, the U.S. was the world's largest oil-producing country in 2019 with more than 12 million barrels per day. Although OPEC still has the ability to drive prices, the U.S. has limited the cartel's pricing power b...

Oil stock

OIL STOCKS In the midst of the coronavirus market crash of 2020, oil stocks have cratered. Crude oil prices have fallen almost 70% since early January. At recent prices, both Brent and West Texas futures haven't been this low in 20 years. Simply put, the 2020 oil crash is unprecedented in both its swiftness and severity. But oil is still the black blood that flows in the veins of the global economy. Even as renewable energy supplants gasoline, diesel, and other refined hydrocarbons, they will remain important fuels to power transportation and generate electricity for many years to come. So, with oil prices at record lows, and essentially every stock in the oil and gas sector now trading at massive discounts to their prices only a couple of months ago, should investors be buying? This is the very moment when we should heed Warren Buffett's advice to be greedy when others are fearful, right? After all, some of the most diversified and best-known oil companies have seen their stoc...
HOW TO INVEST IN OIL MARKET High volatility makes predicting oil prices extremely difficult. Still, the US Energy Information Administration tries to do their best. If forecasts are to be believed, global demand will boost oil prices to $92 by 2030, to $105 by 2040, and to $107 per barrel by 2050. All signs suggest that oil won’t lose ground and will draw investors’ attention over and over again. How to update your BIOS settings

HOW TO UPDATE YOUR BIOS SETTINGS Occasionally, a computer will need to have its BIOS updated. This is especially true of older machines. As new devices and standards arise, the BIOS needs to change in order to understand the new hardware. Since the BIOS is stored in some form of ROM, changing it is a bit harder than upgrading most other types of software. To change the BIOS itself, you'll probably need a special program from the computer or BIOS manufacturer. Look at the BIOS revision and date information displayed on system startup or check with your computer manufacturer to find out what type of BIOS you have. Then go to the BIOS manufacturer's Web site to see if an upgrade is available. Download the upgrade and the utility program needed to install it. Sometimes the utility and update are combined in a single file to download. Copy the program, along with the BIOS update, onto a floppy disk. Restart your computer with the floppy disk in the drive, and the program erases the ...

Oil prices reduces below zero

OIL PRICES REDUCES BELOW ZERO NEW YORK (AP) — Oil prices plunged below zero on Monday as demand for energy collapses amid the coronavirus pandemic and traders don’t want to get stuck owning crude with nowhere to store it. Stocks were also slipping on Wall Street in afternoon trading, with the S&P 500 down 0.9%, but the market’s most dramatic action was by far in oil, where benchmark U.S. crude for May delivery plummeted to negative $3.70 per barrel, as of 2:15 pm. Eastern time. Much of the drop into negative territory was chalked up to technical reasons — the May delivery contract is close to expiring so it was seeing less trading volume, which can exacerbate swings. But prices for deliveries even further into the future, which were seeing larger trading volumes, also plunged. Demand for oil has collapsed so much due to the coronavirus pandemic that facilities for storing crude are nearly full. Tanks could hit their limits within three weeks, according to Chris Midgley, head of ana...
