What is a pronoun, types and examples of pronouns

WHAT IS A PRONOUN
Definition: A Pronoun can be defined as a word that serve as a replacement for a noun in a given sentence, inorder to avoid the repetition of that noun.
Example
I gave Henry the book Henry's mother bought for Henry.
CORRECTION
I gave Henry the book Henry's mother bought for him.
From the above sentence, (Him)  is used to replace the noun Henry, to avoid repiting the noun.
e.g she,he,us, each, somebody, myself, nobody,no one,many we, something, several, few, himself, themselves, herself etc.
TYPES OF PRONOUN
(1). DEMONSTRATIVE PRONOUN:
this pronoun is used to make a reference or demonstration to a particular word in a sentence. e.g these, that,  those.
These and this point out things that are close to the actual speaker. While that and those illustrate things that are at far distance.
Examples
a. These are my kids
b. This is my dad
c. Those are my friends.
d. This is my brother's house
(2).PERSONAL PRONOUN
this pronoun is used to illustrate the actual or personal names of people, things, etc
e.g I, you, she, he, her, him, they, us, them, we etc.
These pronouns refers to three categories of persons (objects, things, people, animal, ideas, etc.)
A. FIRST PERSON PRONOUN :
This pronoun refers to the person speaking or reporting an event.
Example
a. We go to church every Sunday
 b. I go to school everyday
c. I am looking for a pen
B. THE SECOND PERSON PRONOUN
The second person pronoun refers to the person, thing, or idea that is been addressed. e.g you, they etc.
 Example
a. You have one day to leave this place
b. You go to church once in a while
c. You are too ugly
C. THE THIRD PERSON PRONOUN
This pronoun refers to the person or thing that is spoken about or being discussed in a particular sentence. e.g she, it, he etc.
Example
_He has a dog
_she is a lazy girl
_it fights violently
_ It likes running around the bush
(3). POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS
These are called possessive pronouns because they show or indicate possessions.  They include : my, mine, our,ours, hers, his, their, theirs, its etc.
Examples
_ The principal has given the students their bags.
_His aunt is the newly appointed leader
_Theirs is a different case
_The mansion across the road is ours.
_ Our church building is been renovated
(4). INTERROGATIVE PRONOUN
This pronoun is derived from the word interrogation. These pronouns are used to ask questions. e.g what, who, when, where, whose, which etc.
Examples
_what is your favorite food
_who is your best friend
_who are you looking for
_whose book is this
_when are you coming back
_which of them are yours
_where are you
5.REFLEXIVE PRONOUN
These are pronouns that makes reference to the subject in the sentence. e.g. are himself, myself, itself, themselves, yourself, ourselves, herself etc.
Examples
_My aunt cooks her food herself
_The minister himself visited the library
_can you cook the food yourself
_They carried the wood by themselves etc.
6. INDEFINITE  PRONOUN
These pronouns are called indefinite pronouns because they don't refer to a particular person or things. They are used in a general sense. They are: someone, everything, everybody, somebody, few, much, both, none etc.
Examples
_None of the players was present at the match past
_somebody is looking for you
_I want the both of you
_He told  everybody to go home
FUNCTIONS OF THE PRONOUN
A pronoun has the same grammatical functions as that of a noun,  some ofl them are outlined below
1.subject of a verb
2.subject complement
3.complement of a Preposition
4.Object of a verb
5.Object complement
